Economics is an amalgamation of Art and Science that uses logical thinking and data analysis to study consequences of human motives, incentives, regulatory and policy framework and structures, and economic institutions. Economics is the basis of every function that we as an individual perform in an economy. A person doesn’t need a formal training in Economics to understand the basic concept of demand and supply. However, a proper understanding of economics and a formal training in this field can help with better decision-making, planning and issue solving.

At VSE, we offer a three-year program in Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Economics which provides an opportunity for in-depth study of economics and its principles. The program is taught by faculty who are subject-experts and dedicated researchers in their respective areas. They constantly endeavor to bridge the gap between theory and real world for the students in the class. In the three years, students are exposed to economic issues at the local, national and international levels.

VSE offers an innovative and interactive learning environment. The curriculum provides an opportunity for rigorous foundations as well as exposure to diverse economic topics. VSE offers certain value-added courses like Basic Excel, Advanced Excel, R, STATA to help refine the analytical skills of the students. The department periodically conducts guest lectures by renowned Economists, symposiums, seminars, fortnightly discussions on current Economic topics of importance, debates, industrial visits to develop students’ academic and professional skills
